Halloween

The boys had a fabulous time trick-or-treating this year.  Braden went to a few houses and then decided to hand out candy with me.  Logan and Dawson wanted to trick-or-treat until their candy basket was full and they sure did!  Here's a pic of my three Star Wars guys:

Puzzle and Bubble Time

Braden loved doing puzzles and this puzzle Aunt Katie and Uncle Josh got him helps him with his name, letters and colors!

I got some really good shots of Dawson blowing bubbles on a Spring day here!  Who doesn't love bubbles?!

St. Patrick's Day

We had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day this year.  I made Irish Stew and Soda bread and it was yummy.  We also had a blast keeping up with our yearly family rivalry of our March Madness brackets (Logan is ahead of everyone right now).  

New Home!

Well, it looks like we will be in the Chicago area for a while now because we are building a home!  We are so excited for this new adventure!  They start digging tomorrow and we will hopefully be in our new home in July!  So happy!

Little Van Gogh

Logan has gotten to be a great little artist.  This is his interpretation of Van Gogh's Starry Night! He also won a competition by the Student Council in school for his Valentine's Day design being the best in the class.

Love My Boys!

The magic of a Mother’s Love, brings harmony and bliss. It covers like a blanket and cures boo-boos with a kiss. Jenkins Family

We got to spend the Christmas holidays with family in Arkansas and had a fabulous time.  Here are a few layouts I made with some pictures of Derick with his dad and siblings. I love the playful picture at the bottom of the first layout and the second layout is great to see them "back in the day" and then current day.

Year in Review

2011 Year in Review
This was a hard project for me to do because I could only pick one picture per month which meant only one favorite thing per month.  I have so many favorites each month!!!!  I finally narrowed it down to one each :)
I have never been a person to make a lot of resolutions, but I read a blog about picking a single word to try to live by for the year and really liked the concept.  I have chosen the word ENJOY.  I want to ENJOY my husband, my kids, my church, my life!  Goodbye 2011 and hello 2012!

We finally got SNOW!  The boys were so excited and we all had a blast playing outside.  We can't wait for the next snow!

Decorating the Christmas Tree

The text says,

"Every year, the weekend after Thanksgiving, we decorate the house for Christmas. We always put Christmas music on while we decorate to get in the Christmas mood and sing along to all of the songs we love.   The boys love getting out all of the Christmas ornaments and remenbering whos are each ornament and reminiscing about some of the ones from before they can remember.   My favorite part is seeing each boys excitement when they find an ornament that they love and haven’t seen in a year.  I also love our first Christmas together ornamnet and listening to the boys say how young we look and the boys first Christmas ornamnets.  It’s so nice to remenber the wonderful times we have had in the past and be thankful for each moment.  Life passes so quickly, but getting these ornmants out each year, helps us to remenber the wonderful memories we have made throughout the years!"

Elf on the Shelf

This a scrapbook page I made for our family album.  The text says, "Emry is the name of our elf.  This is our first year with Emry and we all love him.  Every night he leaves to fly to the Northpole to give his report on the boys to Santa.  Then, he flys back and lands in a new spot everyday.  The boys love to find him right when they wake up.  It's a fun tradition to continue for years to come.  Welcome Emry!

I'm Back!

Hi all!  I started this blog years ago to keep family and friends updated on life, but stopped updating it once I started on facebook.  I don't want to bombard everyone on facebook with constant pictures and updates of the kids, so I decided it would be best to start the blog back again.  Please enjoy and leave comments!

The boys LOVE Halloween because it involves two of their favorite things...dressing up and candy! Logan said that he wanted to go to a million houses trick-or-treating this year. They had so much fun going trick-or-treating through our neighborhood. By the end of the night their pumpkins were so full that Dawson said it was too heavy to hold. Needless to say, they have enough candy to last a LONG time!

Derick's 37th Birthday!

On Sunday, we went spent the day at Epcot. We had fun riding rides, seeing the characters and visiting the different countries. The boys got passports and got a stamp for every country they visited. They thought that was cool! Then on Monday, we had a family birthday celebration at the house which included Derick's favorite meal, cake and a pinata. The boys can't wait for the next birthday!

The baby is a...

BOY! Well, after weeks of anticipation, we found out that we are having a boy. They checked out everything from head to toe and he looks healthy which is a blessing! I am a little sad that I will never get that little girl I always thought about having, but still feel very happy about the little miracle boy in my tummy!
